In Te Domine Speravi

Known as a polyphony-virtuoso, the Norwegian composer and organist Ludvig Nielsen had a connection to the Nidaros Cathedral few others were allowed. Leading cantor and organist from 1935, he took charge of the Nidaros Cathedral Men and Boys Choir in 1948, which he lead until 1973, the year Maestro Bjørn Moe took over.

In addition to numerous works for organ, Maestro Nielsen composed instrumental concertos, and cantatas and motets for choirs.

His Te Deum, Op. 9, is one of his biggest works for full orchestra, soloists and choir. With Maestro Nielsen being such a intimate member of the choir, it is an utmost honor to be able to celebrate his contribution to the choir by bringing his music to this concert in Singapore.
