First sung by renowned Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng (鄧麗君), "Story of a Little Town" (also known as "Small Town Story" or 小城故事 in Chinese) was initially recorded for the 1978 Taiwanese film of the same name. Described as expressing the hardworking, hospitable, and optimistic nature of Taiwanese people by news magazine CTWant, this short song paints an idyllic picture of a tranquil and heartwarming town. It was composed by Weng Qingxi (also known as Weng Ching-Hsi or 翁清溪 in Chinese), a famous Taiwanese composer who created many other works like "The Moon Represents My Heart" (月亮代表我的心).
