Carol of the Bells - Hammered Dulcimer

The hammered dulcimer is a percussion-stringed instrument which consists of strings stretched over a trapezoidal resonant sound board, played with a mallet hammer.

Ted Yoder’s hammered dulcimer cover of Tears for Fears “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” went viral for the Facebook live broadcast. The original video has been viewed more than 100 million times.

The rendition also caught the attention of Tears for Fears. The band members visited Ted’s orchard to perform with him the same song. The singer Curt Smith sang on a swing and the drummer Jamie Wollam drummed on a box, creating the surreal moment.
