Forever Young

The Kreisorchester Borken is a national orchestra from Germany, striving to provide musicians with the chance to perform symphonic wind music in large ensembles with utmost proficiency.

Forever Young, released in the autumn of 1984 by the German synth-pop band Alphaville, holds a distinguished record as one of the most extensively covered titles.

The arrangement in the video was done by Thiemo Kraas. He was commissioned by the orchestra to write the three-movement composition FRENZY in 2020 and 2021. FRENZY was to be the main focus of the recording project, but a smaller piece was also sought to serve as a contrast. Kraas proposed to the conductor, André Baumeister and the orchestra board to include Forever Young in the recording as a counterpart to FRENZY. The idea was embraced wholeheartedly.
