Different Is Ok

Six years ago, Luis and Sandra brought their autistic son, Huillo, to a Coldplay concert in Mexico. It was an emotional night where Huillo was moved to tears by Coldplay's performance of 'Fix You'. The heartwarming moment was uploaded to YouTube and went viral. Coldplay responded to the video on Twitter "This kind of thing makes it all worthwhile."

This year, the band returned to the same venue and invited 12 years old Huillo to perform his self-composed song “Different Is Ok” together. It is a meaningful song and beautiful gesture by Coldplay to share the stage.

It has been an incredible journey for Huillo. As penned on his website, the family faced challenges in their education system and to quote “We found ourselves dealing with educated people who get terrified with words like – "Autism", "Autistic" or "Special needs".”

For the family, the turning point is at the Coldplay concert in 2016. Music is therapeutic and uplifting for Huillo. We share the call for more acceptance and inclusion in our society, being different is ok!
