Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train has shattered the Japanese box office - becoming the fastest film to earn over 10 billion yen. The movie carries on from where the first season of the TV anime ended. The plot is about the protagonist, Tanjiro, becoming a demon slayer after his family is killed, and his sister is turned into a demon.
Asaka Daiichi Junior High School Brass Band plays Episode 19 insert song “Kamado Tanjiro no Uta” in this video. The performance was recorded for the student’s keepsake as events were cancelled this year due to the pandemic. We are impressed with the discipline these young musicians shown. Bravo!
As the band plays the heart-wrenching melody, we can also feel the determination and motivation in their spirits. This is what the song conveys, to protect and rise to the challenge.
There are resemblances that contributed to the goosebumps. The age of the students is the same as the protagonist, the impact will most likely be different if the piece is performed by adults. If you are curious about several comments complimenting the children’s breathing, it is a reference to breathing styles practised by the demon slayers.
It is regrettable that there is no audience to applaud at the end of the wonderful performance. Let's do it from wherever you are.
Mugen is a Japanese word that means infinite. Just like what the junior high students showed, children can create a future of infinite possibilities.
