Was at Liang Court (Singapore) today and walked into a talent competition by Cristofori piano. Always good to see budding young musicians showcasing their talents. It really doesn't matter what level they are or how well they played. The key is to give it a try and train the nerves. Need more of this for classical music everywhere.
Any of you that have performed on stages would know it can be nerve racking. Kudos to these young musicians for their courage and their parents and teacher for their support. Music do make beautiful children, as said by Cheryl Lavender.
Of course there were no shortage of even more nervous parents who continued to "lecture" their younglings up till their walk onto the stage. A loving and warm hug would have been much better. This is not an audition to Juilliard. Even then, an encouraging loving hug would be the best.
