About
Members of the collective are conservatory-trained music majors, most of whom have attained post-graduate training around the world. They are among Singapore’s most talented and dedicated musicians, who share the vision of enriching the classical music landscape by performing at the highest level.
re:Sound has presented concerts with music ranging from the early baroque to the 21st century and new commissions. The many guest artists who have performed with the company are Melvyn Tan, Margaret Leng Tan, Ike See, Pavlo Beznosiuk, Enrico Onofri, Kam Ning, Dennis Lee, Lim Yan, Jason Lai, Ng Pei-Sian, Chloe Chua and the Nidaros Cathedral Boys' Choir from Norway.
The collective also encourages and promotes new Singapore works, commissioning and premiering the performance of music compositions by Singaporean composers. It's latest commission featured Jonathan Shin's 1819 Suite for Singapore's bicentennial in 2019, followed by a digital reprise in August 2021 to celebrate Singapore's National Day.
Concordia Quartet debuted in February 2020 and almost immediately after, was part of the cast in Wild Rice's The Importance of Being Earnest. The quartet has since then performed in two digital performances during the Covid-19 circuit breaker and had presented their latest concert, "Soaring on the Wind" in October 2021.
With many theatres and concert halls closed periodically during the past two years living with Covid-19, Resound Collective had ventured into presenting three virtual concerts, using lead-edge technology to bring live string quartet and chamber orchestras to Singapore and beyond.
This year it collaborated with cultural medallion recipient Jeremy Monteiro to finally bring a jazz-classical concert, Tapestry, to the stage after previous cancellations due to Covid-19.
Resound Collective Limited is supported by the National Arts Council under the Seed Grant Scheme for the period from 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2022.
To date, Licha Stelaus Productions has had three collaborations with the Resound Collective namely during our Nidaros Cathedral Men and Boys Choir 2017 Singapore Tour, our 2019 Echo of a Millenium Asia Tour, and our 2019 Encounter Beethoven Chamber Concert.
