尼德羅斯大聖堂合唱團延續著近1000年的傳統。尼德羅斯大聖堂仍然是他們主要的音樂舞台，他們定期參加教堂彌撒。

合唱團在教會活動外也十分活躍，並在國際活動中代表挪威作為文化大使，也是挪威王室所有活動（包括加冕典禮）的首選合唱團，並經常受邀為全球領導人和皇室成員表演。

合唱團豐富的歷史可以追溯到西元9世紀，當時挪威和英國的石匠來到特隆海姆建造基督之城—尼德羅斯大聖堂的的前身。當時，牧師教導石匠年幼的兒子們葛利果禮拜儀式。男孩們會參加教堂禮拜，這是我們今天看到大教堂現代男孩合唱團傳統的起源。

合唱團由Bjørn Moe指導，他是合唱團的指揮和藝術總監。Bjørn Moe本人曾是合唱團的團員，自1973年起擔任合唱團的指揮。這位挪威指揮家因與合唱團的深遠的合作關係而被授予享有盛譽的 HM the King's Medal of Merit 金質勳章。

尼德羅斯大聖堂合唱團與來自新加坡Re:Sound管弦樂團合作，演出了普契尼的經典作品《光榮彌撒》，是一場令人難以忘懷的美妙演出。Re:Sound 是一個室內管弦樂團，不由占主導地位的藝術總監或首席指揮領導，而是由團員們自己指揮。尼德羅斯大聖堂合唱團和Re:Sound也演出了其他廣受喜愛的傳統音樂和古典作品曲目。
