Joaquín Oliva Uberuaga

Playing for the former general music director of the Berlin State Opera and one of the greatest pianists of all time? Not a problem for young pianist Joaquín Oliva Uberuaga as he plays Chopin's Waltz in C Sharp Minor (Op. 64 No. 2) for Daniel Barenboim and Martha Argerich at the 2017 Festival Barenboim in Buenos Aires. Two years later, on March 16, 2019, the young Argentinian pianist's dreams came true as he debuted in the Teatro Colón (the main opera house in Buenos Aires) with the Olavarria Municipal Orchestra. With Diego Lurbe "at the helm", they played Bach's Concerto No. 5 in F Minor (BWV 1056). It was an inspiring day for Joaquín, one that undoubtedly inspired him to continue down his musical path. With the support of organizations like the Centro de Estudios Pianísticos (Center for Piano Studies), who helped him take a Master Class with pianist Ingrid Fliter, and his family, Joaquín will surely grow to become one of the world's best. We're happy to see budding musicians get the support they need, and hope to see and share many more!
